The strip-till system using Mzuri Pro-Til assures an optimum environment for consistent growth and high yields. Mzuri Pro-Til is unsurpassed in loosening and assuring optimum compaction of a strip of soil, as well as seed sowing precision.

Area A – Loosening
Toothed discs cut the straw and other post-harvest trash at the surface of the soil, simultaneously moving it to the two sides of the tilled strip.
Self-levelling teeth with replaceable working elements are used to till the soil strip. Soil within this strip is well loosened, moist, free of plant trash on the surface. Within the tilled soil strip, fertilizer is placed below the sown seeds.
This means less of it can be added, all the while assuring plants have access to nutrients from the start of vegetation.
Area B – Compaction
The Mzuri Pro-Til exhibits a unique characteristic in that the machine’s entire weight pushes down uniformly on all cultivated strips. Thanks to this the loosened soil can be again compacted, thus reducing large air bubbles, which increases contact between the sown seeds, later the plants’ roots, with the moist soil.
Area C – Sowing
The coulters of each section work completely independently of the tilling teeth. They perfectly follow the unevenness of the field, maintain a homogeneous sowing depth and are easy to regulate. Every coulter uses a hydraulic system to exert pressure on the wheel controlling sowing depth. This assures a homogeneous sowing depth and presses seeds into the moist soil, assuring conditions for fast germination.

Mzuri Pro-Til allows direct sowing in a stubble field following the harvest of each pioneer crop. This makes it possible to farm deeper and shallower soil layers, with fertilizers applied and seeds sown at a precisely set depth, all in one pass.
The seeds are placed in moist, appropriately aerated soil with an appropriate structure. Beneficial air-water conditions allow plants to grow quickly and consistently, and assure intense growth of roots and whole plants.
Reduced fuel use.
In the Mzuri Pro-Til technology tilling occurs only in thin strips (with soil loosened and not inverted), which reduces resistance during operations and fuel consumption. Post-harvest trash remains on the surface of untilled strips (inter-rows), protecting soil from loss of water and organic matter. This also leads to improved biological activity in the soil, including earthworms, its loosening, improved structure and reduced compaction. As a result, the average fuel consumption when using Mzuri Pro-Til is only 15 l/ha!
Reduced costs and working time.
Lower fuel consumption translates into lower costs. A single pass of a machine that tills, fertilizes and sows seeds greatly reduces working time. This was work doesn’t pile up at peak times. Regardless of weather conditions the optimum sowing times can be maintained. With lower costs and reduced working hours, the farm’s efficiency and profitability improve.

Improved soil structure.
Multiple passes with traditional agricultural machines lead to soil structure degradation. A hard soil layer often forms on the surface, while the deeper layers are excessively compacted. This interferes with air and water levels, the soil becomes oxygen deprived and biological life dies. In such conditions plant growth, root development and drawing nutrients from the soil are rendered more difficult.
